I am Ann Daniels, Belgian/Flemish, 34 years old and I am the woman behind Trainstorm. Training and coaching are my passion and since 2008 also my profession. There is nothing better than supporting people in their learning process or in transforming their ideas into projects and corresponding funding applications, so you can wake me up for it in the middle of the night!

In the formal education context I have studied political sciences at the Catholic University Leuven followed by a Master in cultures and development at the same university. Currently I am studying at the Open University combining human resource and educational subjects to eventually either get a master in strategic human resources management or in educational science or both.

In the non formal education system I have attended several Salto courses and seminars on EUROMED cooperation, working in international teams, project management etc. I have actively participated in the TOTHRE (Training of trainers in human rights education) in 2009 and I am also a very happy participant of the training of trainers 2010-2011. So I am now officially trained to be a trainer! :-) To develop myself further I will also participate in the UNIQUE RIDE which is a training that focuses on the development of a professional trainer and I really look forward to that! I also try to learn Arabic and I read a lot. I love learning and I think that is the way to go to inspire young people and youth workers to join in and develop their potential as much as possible!

I have worked at Pax Christi Flanders as the coordinator of the Flemish Peace Week (annual peace campaign) and the responsible of the peace education unit. I also started the youth movement ‘Youth Movement for Peace’ and that got me involved in the youth program and training. Next professional stop was JINT, the Flemish national agency for youth in action, where I worked as an EVS, youth democracy and partner country cooperation officer.

In 2008 I then became a fulltime freelance trainer @ Trainstorm and I love it! I am a member of the Dutch trainers pool and of the Flemish facilitators pool.
